First Annual Brian Smith Memorial Awarded To Stiggy’s Dogs

Winter of the beard members

On May 11, 2016, Winter of the Beard was very pleased to present the First Annual Brian Smith Memorial Grant in the amount of $1,000 to Stiggy’s Dogs. We were very honored to be able to present the grant with our very special member Big John Smith, Brian’s dad. We were also glad to meet Matt, and Stiggy’s program participants Chris and his dog, Eddie. Stiggy’s is such a great organization doing so much to save one human and one dog life at a time. Thank you everyone for your donations, and thank you veterans for our freedom!

Waterford Riverwalk Festival- Dare 2 Inspire

On September 10, 2016, Winter of the Beard participated in RiverWalk Fest 3, the third annual event to celebrate the RiverWalk along the Clinton River in Waterford Township.

The free festival featured live music, art demos, artisans, food vendors and kayak rides at 5220 Highland Road, Waterford Township.

The event was organized by Dare 2 Inspire, a nonprofit group that cleaned up a Waterford walkway under Highland Road, painting over graffiti and helped draw support for a boardwalk from the river up to M-59.

Our volunteers spent the day telling people about Winter of the Beard, (who we are and what we do) and handing out flyers for our golf outing.  Thanks so much to our volunteers for turning out on short notice!

Winter of the Beard’s booth at RiverWalk Fest 3, on September 10, 2016 members were invited to sign up for our golf outing at the event and get $20 off the team fee!
